tt designs test 2

designed and crafted by me Laser-cut from acrylic. Sizes range from 6 to 22 inches. Priced from $59 to $380 — store under development.

After years of earning my living from the digital world, these creations fill a part of me that longed to do something with my hands. I grew up in an aeronautical household. (All 5 family members held a private pilot’s license.) One of my boyhood fascinations was the Granville Brothers Gee Bee — pylon racing champion of my father’s youth.

I set out crafting sculptures of the planes from cardboard, then aluminum soda cans, then wood. While fine tuning the production of the wooden planes, I stumbled across a new material — acrylic. Its transparency, color and light play captured my eye and imagination. New designs were born that took advantage of these characteristics. Funny though how now I’m cutting them digitally, and bringing them to market via the internet. One just can’t escape the digital vortex swirling around us these days. Such is life.
